I jsut went and built an equivilant PC from Dell. I couldn't start with the Dell Precision 690... because that comp doesn't go as slow and low as the Mac. I started with the cheap Precision 390. Upgrading to get all the options I could to be close (Processor, RAM, better graphics card
My final price was: 2,417$ (compare that to the price the guy said for the mac, of 3,048$) I did not check if the price the guy made for the mac is accurate or not.. but I doubt it is, I bet the thing costs even more.
The writer of that article, gives Mac users a bad name. Lying bastard.

This is basically my current dream computer. This thing is overkill for ALL games that are out today. And if you kick a few things down a notch, you can easily wipe off CA$1000 or more.
But I guess that would be comparing the ultimate gaming machine with a workstation. Nobody under 18 and very few adults have a use for Xeons. I think they're great for high-end servers, nothing more.
The thing is is that the Xeon uses the same Core 2 architecture that the Core 2 Duo employs. A Xeon based workstation would be a great gaming machine, but is generally overkill, even for crazy-ass gamers. These sort of systems come into play in large development environments, where the performance benefits of the Xeon are actually useful.

That is crap.
Display none
Display Dell 19” UltraSharp 1907FP
Ofcourse your comp will cost more if you throw in a display.
Also... I went to the site the guy links to... and you can't get a Dell of that model that is that slow. This is all bullshit.
